එක්සත් ජාතීන්ගේ CEDAW කමිටුවට ‘ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ලෙස්බියන් සහ ද්විලිංගික කාන්තාවන් සහ සංක්‍රාන්ති සමාජභාවී පුද්ගලයන්ගේ තත්වය මැයෙන් ඡායාවාර්තාවක් ඉදිරිපත් කළා. වැඩිදුර විස්තර මෙතැනින් කියවන්න.

පෙබරවාරි

‘Jaded Jezebels’ පොත් සමාජය 2011 පෙබරවාරි මාසයේ දී පිහිටුවා තිබෙනවා.කාන්තා ක්‍රියාකාරී කණ්ඩායම විසින් ආරම්භයේ සිටම පාහේ පුස්තකාලයක් පවත්වාගෙන ගියත්, පොත් සමාජයක් යන අදහස ඔවුන්ට පැමිණ ඇත්තේ මේ වසරේය. WSG පිහිටවූ මුල් කාලයේ ඔවුන් පැවැත් වූ මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවෙන් අනතුරුව ඔවුනට එරෙහිව පී අලස් නම් පාඨකයා විසින් ලියන සමලිංගිකභීතිකාවෙන් යුතු වෛරී ලිපියේ අඩංගු අපහාසාත්මක පදයක් යොදා ගනිමින් ඔවුන් ජේඩඩ් ජෙසබෙල්ස් පොත් සමාජය (JJBC) නමින් ඔවුන්ගේ පොත් සමාජයට නම් තබා තිබෙනවා. වැඩිදුර විස්තර මෙතැනින් කියවන්න.

අප්‍රේල් 4

ශ්‍රී ලංකා පවුල් සැලසුම් සංගමයේ (FPA) ඉල්ලීම පරිදි, WSG හි සාමාජිකයින් දෙදෙනෙකු විසින් LBT පුද්ගලයින්ට බලපාන නිශ්චිත ගැටළු පිළිබඳව සෞඛ්‍ය වෘත්තිකයන් කණ්ඩායමකට වැඩමුළුවක දී දැනුවත් කිරීමක් සිදු කළා. මෙම වැඩමුළුව 2011 අප්‍රේල් 4 වන දින පවත්වන ලද අතර එයට FPA හි ලිංගික හා ප්‍රජනක සෞඛ්‍ය තොරතුරු උපදේශන සේවාව “Happy Life”හි ක්ෂණික ඇමතුම් අංකය භාර වෛද්‍යවරුන්, හෙදියන් සහ උපදේශකයින් සහභාගී වුනා. වැඩිදුර විස්තර මෙතැනින් කියවන්න.

අප්‍රේල් 16-18 April 2011

නේපාලයේ කත්මණ්ඩු නුවර, කොන් කිරීමට ලක් වූ කාන්තාවන්ට එරෙහි හිංසනය ආමන්ත්‍රණය කිරීම සඳහා CREA විසින් සංවිධානය කරන Count Me In! සම්මන්ත්‍රණයේ දී ඩ්‍රැග් රජු විලාසිතා ඡායාරූප මාලාව ප්‍රදර්ශනය කෙරුනා. වැඩිදුර විස්තර මෙතැනින් කියවන්න.

සැප්තැම්බර්

රිවිර පුවත්පතේ ගමන්මගේ සහකරුවෝ ආයතනය ඉලක්ක කරමින් පල වූ සමලිංගිකභීතිකාවෙන් යුතු ලිපි පෙළ හේතුවෙන් LGBT ක්‍රියාකාරීන්ට ආරක්ෂාව ගැන බොහෝ ගැටළු පැමිණි කාලයක් පැමිණුනා. WSG ආයතනයේ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ද විවිධ දුෂ්කරතාවලට මුහුණ පෑ අතර, ඒ අනුව සාමාජිකයන්ගේ ආරක්ෂාව සලකමින් WSG වෙබ් අඩවිය වසා දමනු ලැබුවා. වැඩිදුර විස්තර මෙතැනින් කියවන්න.

2011 in Brief
January	A shadow report was submitted to the UN CEDAW Committee entitled “The situation of lesbian and bisexual women and transgender people in Sri Lanka”. click here to read more.
February	The ‘Jaded Jezebels’ book club was founded in February 2011. Although WSG had been running a library since its inception, the idea of a book club seemed to have occurred to them this year. Following the very first press conference which was conducted in the early days of WSG, a person named P. Alles published a derogatory homophobic newspaper article where the phrase ‘Jaded Jezebels’ was used as an insult. This was later reclaimed by WSG as their name for the book club. click here to read more.
April 4	At the request of the Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA), two members of the WSG conducted a workshop to sensitize a group of health professionals on specific issues affecting LBT individuals. This workshop was held on 4th April 2011 and was attended by doctors, nurses and counselors in charge of the hotline of FPA’s sexual and reproductive health information and “Happy Life” counseling service. click here to read more.
April 16 – 18	The Drag King photography series was showcased at the ‘Count Me In!’ conference, organized by CREA to address violence against marginalized women in Kathmandu, Nepal. වැඩිදුර විස්තර මෙතැනින් කියවන්න.
September	There came a time when LGBT activists faced many safety concerns due to homophobic articles published in the Rivira newspaper targeting COJ. WSG staff also faced various difficulties, and accordingly, the WSG website was shut down for the safety of its members. click here to read more.
